Terms and Conditions
By using our services, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.
All orders must be paid for on collection or as otherwise directed by us and we reserve the right to retain your goods until payment in full has been received.
We will of course always attempt to remove stains, however it is not always possible to remove all types of stains from all types of fabrics and Sunny will not waive charges due to our inability to remove a stain.
Collection of Garments
Whilst we make every possible effort to process garments within the prescribed time-frame, we will not be liable for any delays.
Every effort will be made to contact you regarding any delays.
We will always try to contact you regarding items not collected. In the event that garments are not collected within ninety (90) days, we reserve the right to dispose of them as we see fit and shall not be held liable for any loss that you may suffer in such an event.
Care for Garments
To protect you garments, Sunny follow the Care Label instructions on each garment we process. If your garment requires treatment which is contradictory to that indicated on the Care Label instructions, we will attempt to contact you and advise you of the potential risks associated with proceeding with the treatment. If we are unable to gain your informed approval to proceed, we shall refrain from cleaning the garment. If you authorise us to proceed, you must assume responsibility for any damage to the garment.
We accept no liability for garments that have missing Care Labels. We will attempt to contact you and advise you of any potential risks associated with the cleaning of the garment. If we are unable to gain your informed approval to proceed, we shall refrain from cleaning the garment. If you authorise us to proceed, you must assume responsibility for any damage caused to the garment.
Likewise, if we have any concern about the colour fastness, age or condition of the garment, we will contact you in a similar fashion to obtain your approval or return the garment to you untreated.
Although we attempt to check all bags of laundry or drying for suitability of items, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all garments brought to be cleaned or dried are suitable for that process. We take no responsibility for any damage caused during the process following our standard procedures.
Please ensure you thoroughly check all garments/items for pens, coins, paper, etc. as we are not responsible for any items damaged or lost as a result of the cleaning process.
At Sunny, we dry clean your garments according to the care instructions on the Care Label attached by the manufacturer. Should the garment not stand up to its Care Label instructions during the dry cleaning process, we will not be held liable for any damage caused.
We exercise utmost care in cleaning and processing garments entrusted to us and use such processes which, in our opinion, are best suited to the nature and conditions of each individual garment. Nevertheless, we cannot assume responsibility for inherent weaknesses or defects in materials which may result in tears or the development of small holes in fabric that are not readily apparent prior to processing.
During the cleaning process, we cannot guarantee against colour loss, colour bleeding, shrinkage or damage to weak and tender fabrics.
Please see information provided for damages which may arise during the cleaning of Curtains, for which we accept no liability.
Every care possible is taken during the cleaning process but unfortunately due to poor quality of trimmings used even on the most expensive items, no responsibility will be accepted for damage caused to buttons, zips, hems, sequins, buckles etc.
We will not be held responsible for stains which appear after being put through the dry cleaning process. These are stains which have dried onto the garment ‘clear’ unknown to the customer and the dry cleaner. Common invisible stains are from soft drinks, honey and some fruit juices or syrups. If the ‘clear’ stain is not pre-treated before the garment is cleaned, it may oxidize from the heat of the dry cleaning process and set into the garment leaving a stain unknown to you the customer.
Our liability with respect to any damage to garments caused by us shall NOT EXCEED TEN (10) TIMES our charge for cleaning that garment, regardless of brand or condition. No claims for damages will be recognised unless you advise us of same within forty eight (48) hours of collecting the garments.
Loss of Garments
We exercise utmost care in processing garments received to avoid misplacement or loss of items. However, there may be instances where garments get misplaced or lost.
Our liability with respect to any lost item shall not exceed ten (10) times our charge for cleaning that garment, regardless of brand or condition. Our liability is limited to the garment in question and not associated items like matching suit items etc.
Please verify that the number of items collected after cleaning matches the number of items on your docket. Sunny will not be liable for claims relating to missing items after they have been collected.
With respect to items left in for Laundry, no claims will be recognised unless you advise us of same within forty eight (48) hours of collecting your items.
We will use your customer information only in the regular course of providing services to you. We respect your privacy and warrant that any information you give us will be held with the utmost care and security and will not be used in ways to which you have not consented. Providing us with a correct and up to date phone number allows us to better serve you, firstly, by being able to contact you about any issues which may arise during the handling of your garments and secondly to inform you of any special promotion.
Information for Customers regarding
Dry Cleaning of Curtains
Below is a list of information which all customers should be aware of when leaving curtains in for dry cleaning.
While being cleaned, curtains can shrink, especially if it is the first time for them to be cleaned. The customer should not be alarmed at this, as after hanging for 10–14 days, they normally come back to their usual length.
Curtains with Blackout lining cannot be dry cleaned through the normal dry cleaning process. The linings melt or disintegrate causing damage to the filters in our machines. We can send them to be cleaned, to Bohans (Cork) but only if they have no tears. Any curtain with a tear will be refused by Bohans as the tears exaggerate when cleaned.
The lining of the curtain can come apart. This is no fault of ours as it depends on how well the lining is stitched to the curtain. Some linings are just tacked to the curtain and we cannot be held responsible for it coming apart. Again, you should not be alarmed at this as we can re stitch the lining at a reasonable cost.
The edges of the curtains can fray due to sunlight damaging the fabric. This is not damage caused through the dry cleaning process and we cannot be held responsible for this.
Some linings can tear. This is down to wear and tear but can also be because of sunlight weakening the fabric. There is nothing we can do to prevent this.
Rings on curtains can pop out or can even melt. Again, there is nothing we can do to prevent this and we will only clean the curtains going by the care label or the consent of you the customer.
Mildew on curtains can come out but only if it is fresh! When we say fresh we mean a couple of days old… Mildew when set in does not come out through the dry cleaning process.
Yellow or brown stains on the curtains can be from the sunlight. This is damage to the lining and NOT a stain that can come out through the dry cleaning process.
The smells and stains from pets’ urine do not come out fully through the dry cleaning process. If you are concerned regarding this, you should contact specialists in this field i.e. carpet cleaners…Also, the ammonia in pets’ urine when reacting with the chemical (perc) during the dry cleaning process, can sometimes take the colour out of the curtain leaving it with a faded mark.
Curtains may have designs printed or sprayed onto them. These designs can fade or completely disappear during the dry cleaning process. Again, the curtains will not be cleaned without your consent.
